Meet Kristan
Kristan Norton is a lifetime resident of Southern Utah, where she is currently in her 28th year teaching 5th grade in the Washington County School District. Her time in a public elementary classroom has given her invaluable experience with Utah’s most precious resource, our children.
From the time she turned 18 and was registered to vote, Kristan has been a registered Republican. Most recently, she has served for the past three and a half years as a member of the Washington County Republican Party Executive Committee, twice being elected by the voters in House District 75 as their legislative chair.
In 2020, Kristan was elected to the Utah State Board of Education. She has spent the last four years serving on the USBE Finance Committee, where she is currently the Committee Chair. She is also serving on the Board of Directors for the Utah Rural Schools Association. In addition to this work, she has successfully advocated for funding vital capital projects for rural schools and provided access to additional resources for all students in Utah. She has also fought to reduce unnecessary and excessive testing for elementary students statewide.
Kristan graduated from Dixie High School, Dixie College, and later earned her Master of Education Degree from Southern Utah University. She has also completed additional teaching endorsements in Language Arts and Math.
Kristan loves to spend time with her family and grandchildren. They love to travel and attend sporting events all over the country. When not with her family, she loves to read, cook and learn.
